They visited 114 schools during the recent Community Camps throughout New South Wales, and on Tuesday, Swans players will be back on the road, visiting 29 schools in Sydney's north.

The players will have a busy morning, attending assemblies at schools stretching from Neutral Bay on Sydney Harbour, to Bilgola on the northern beaches.

The visits are part of the Team Swans schools program which engages thousands of school kids across Sydney every year.

This year, Volkswagen has partnered with the program to help players deliver messages about how to keep the classroom environmentally friendly.

Team Swans ambassador Nick Smith said he was looking forward to a busy series of visits on Tuesday.

“Every week, groups of Swans players head out into the community to visit local schools and it is something I really enjoy getting involved in,” Smith said.

“While it is always great to give young kids some exposure to AFL footy and the Red Rookie program, it is also good just to give them some advice on healthy lifestyle choices, keeping fit and active and take care of the environment,” he said.

Team Swans visits will happen weekly throughout 2011. Schools wishing to register their interest in the program can do so via email enquiries@sydneyswans.com.au.
