Sydney speedster Justin McInerney's high-impact game against Melbourne in Cairns has earned him the round 15 NAB AFL Rising Star nomination.
McInerney, 20, was among the Swans' best in the win over the Demons at Cazaly’s Stadium last Thursday, collecting 14 disposals and booting two goals.
He has played seven games in his career to date, having made his debut in round four, 2019, coincidentally against the Demons.
Blessed with lightning pace, McInerney was picked by the Swans at No.44 in the 2018 NAB AFL Draft, having played his junior footy Banyule Junior Football Club, the Northern Knights in the NAB League, and at Marcellin College in Melbourne's east.
He is the Swans' first Rising Star nominee of the season, and the club's first since Nick Blakey earned the nod in round 14 last year.
Congratulations Juzzy!
