The Sydney Swans have added leg speed to their side to take on the Adelaide Crows at the SCG on Friday night, with Ben Ronke and Colin O’Riordan returning for the club's first home fixture of the season.
Coach John Longmire has made two changes to the side that lost to the Western Bulldogs, with Ronke and O’Riordan coming in to replace Heath Grundy (back) and Jordan Dawson (omitted).
Longmire said Ronke would add important forward pressure on Friday night.
“He missed a couple of games during the pre-season but then came back and played really well last week in the NEAFL,” Longmire told QBE Team Selection.
“He gives us enormous pressure and speed in our front half, and that’s what we’re after at the moment.”
O’Riordan made his debut in Round 17 last season and went on to play three games at AFL level.
“He’s a real competitor, Colin,” Longmire said on his inclusion.
“He’s had a good pre-season, he can play on tall and small players in our defence, and he gives us some more run.
“So once again he’s another player who can add some real versatility to our team.”
