We’re heading north to take on Brisbane at the Gabba in Round 1 of next year’s home-and-away season.
The match between the Sydney Swans and the Lions will take place at 7:45pm Sydney time – or 6:45pm local time – on Saturday, March 20.
The AFL unveiled the opening round fixture on Sunday morning with the Swans set to return to Queensland where the team played eight matches in 2020, including three at the Gabba.
Season 2021 will open with the traditional clash between Richmond and Carlton at the MCG on Thursday, March 18.
The announcement follows confirmation of the pre-season fixture last week, with Sydney to play two games in NSW including a match against GWS in Blacktown and a clash with Collingwood in Coffs Harbour.
