Matthew O’Dwyer – Rookie List Promotion
Nick Smith – Rookie List Promotion

RETAINED ROOKIES:

Brendan Murphy
Jake Orreal

DELISTED ROOKIES:

Aaron Bruce
Dean Terlich
Matthew Beckmans

The Sydney Swans Best and Fairest was a good opportunity to acknowledge and farewell the retiring Ben Mathews and Peter Everitt.

Unfortunately the same can’t be said for a number of players who were delisted post this event.

The Sydney Swans thank Nick Davis and Luke Brennan for their contribution and wish them well for the future.

Davis will forever go down in Swans history for his almost solo effort in the game against Geelong to take the Club into the 2005 Grand Final.

Brennan has only had two seasons at the Sydney Swans but made a good contribution during his time at the harbour city Club.

Both players are assessing their options, looking towards the AFL Draft and beyond.

Kristin Thornton has been delisted but has accepted an invitation to resume pre-season training with the team with the hope of being selected onto the Swans rookie list. Rookie Aaron Bruce is doing this as well.

It was good news for Nick Smith and Matt O’Dwyer who have been elevated from the rookie list onto the senior list for season 2009.

To the departed Peter Faulks, Dean Terlich and Matt Beckmans, the Swans also thank you for your contribution during your time at the Club.

The team will resume pre-season training on November 17.
