The Sydney Swans will be without Dane Rampe and Isaac Heeney for their blockbuster clash against the Giants in the upcoming Sydney Derby XX on Saturday.
Dane Rampe underwent surgery today to repair a broken finger sustained during training two weeks ago.
General Manager of Football Charlie Gardiner provided an update on the star defender’s condition.
“We were hopeful Dane may have been able to avoid surgery but a decision to operate was made this morning after further consultation with the surgeon and Dane underwent surgery late this afternoon. At this stage, we expect Dane will miss the next three to four weeks.”
Gun forward Isaac Heeney will also spend some time on the sidelines after suffering a broken hand early in the Swans three-point victory over Essendon. The Swans are hopeful that Heeney will return in two to three weeks.
