Sydney Swans co-captain and midfielder Josh Kennedy has received votes for the AFL Coaches Association’s AFL Champion Player Award following Sydney’s defeat to the Gold Coast Suns at Metricon Stadium in Round 6.
Despite the defeat, Kennedy was instrumental in the red and white, seeing him poll two votes from the coaches, the lone Swan to poll votes following the clash.
Kennedy finished with a season-high 42 disposals, 28 handballs, 7 tackles and 11 clearances in the defeat.
Gold Coast Suns Touk Miller claimed the full 10 votes from the clash along with Suns’ Ben King (7), Noah Anderson (7) and Nick Holman (4) also polling votes.
