Sydney Swans co-Captain Josh Kennedy has praised the efforts of young midfielder Ollie Florent in the Swans nail-biting, 2-point win win over Geelong on Saturday night.
Florent finished the game topping the Swans' disposals list with 26 and the 22-year old found another gear in a tense final term, gathering nine touches and kicking a crucial goal in the last quarter.
"He was magnificent," Kennedy said on SEN Breakfast on Monday morning.
"It's something as a leader of the club you really enjoy seeing, players like Ollie really taking another step when the games on the line.
"His ability to be composed and take the game on was great and hopefully he continues to provide plenty of headaches for opposition clubs."
Kennedy also applauded the efforts of lively forward Tom Papley who kicked the match winner with 90 seconds remaining in the game.
"He's had a couple of quiet weeks but you could really tell he was focussed," Kennedy said.
"He kicked bookend goals, the first one of the game and then to kick the last one, the cherry on top was awesome for him.
"He's a real energy provider for us as you can tell, so it was fantastic."
Known for his energy in the contest, Papley also keeps fans entertained with his lively post-goal celebrations.
Kennedy was asked whether Papley was the best goal celebrator in the competition.
I've never seen him practice celebrations," Kennedy said with a laugh.
"He is just a kid that likes playing footy and the energy he brings is very natural and that's why we love playing with him."
