The Sydney Swans have finalised their leadership group ahead of season 2009, with four new members to the group - Jude Bolton, Jarrad McVeigh, Nick Malceski and Jarred Moore.

Ryan O'Keefe, Adam Goodes and Luke Ablett have retained their places in the player-elected leadership group, along with 2008 co-captains Brett Kirk and Craig Bolton.

No players were omitted, however Leo Barry stood down from the group towards the end of last season at the same time he relinquished the captaincy along with Tadhg Kennelly who has returned to Ireland.

Coach Paul Roos said the playing group had chosen well.

"Obviously we don't have much of a say in who gets picked, but if I had to choose I would have said to add some youth. So it's good to see the players are thinking along the same lines as the coaches.

"It's now an opportunity for those guys to say how they want the footy club to look. I'd say to them, be aggressive, be confident, work closely with the other guys and set directions for the future of the Club," Roos said.
