Jake Lloyd recently etched his name in the history books, becoming the eighth-youngest Swan to reach 100 wins and the equal 12th quickest.
Lloyd brought up the 100 win milestone when Sydney defeated Carlton in Round 11 of the competition, becoming just the 37th member in a group that comprises of just 2.5% of the club’s all-time playing list of 1438.
The dual Bob Skilton Medallist has snuck into the 100-win club ahead of teammate Sam Reid, who has been stranded on 99 wins since his Round 6 calf injury.
Lloyd, who reached the record in his 165th game, became the eighth-youngest Swan to reach 100 wins and the equal 12th-quickest, tied with Kieran Jack.
Luke Parker holds the record as the youngest 100-win Swan at 24 years 297 days in 2017 and was second-quickest at 148 games behind a man who reached the same milestone 98 years earlier – 1918 premiership captain Jim Caldwell.
An ever-combative centreman/wingman who was one of the League’s best in his prime, Caldwell was the third Swans player to win 100 games behind 1909 premiership players Vic Belcher and Len Mortimer.
Belcher, a Swans Team of the Century choice and the club’s first 200-gamer, was the first 100-win Swan in 1914 a fortnight ahead of Mortimer, a full forward who topped the club goal-kicking seven years in a row from 1906-12.
Caldwell would have posted his 100th win earlier and been a member of the 1909 premiership side but for a nine-match suspension for striking incurred in the 1909 preliminary final.
The Swans 100-win Club struggled for members for a long time. Mark Browning was just the 10th in 1987 – 90 years after the club was formed. But since 2003 there have been 22 more, with Dane Rampe the last in 2019.
Rampe was equal fifth-quickest with Mortimer at 151 games behind Caldwell (145), Parker (148), Belcher (149) and Josh Kennedy (150).
Dan Hannebery, 86 days beyond his 25th birthday, was the second-youngest 100-win Swan behind Parker and ahead of Belcher (25/342) and four recent favorites who fill the top four positions on the club’s all-time games list – Adam Goodes (26/230), Jarrad McVeigh (27/22), Michael O’Loughlin (27/44) and Jude Bolton (27/135).
With 216 wins Goodes heads the all-time Swans win list from McVeigh (203) and his 12th across the entire AFL.
Among the 37 Swans with 100 wins Caldwell has the highest career win ratio at 69.7% from Belcher (67.7%) and Mortimer (66.7%)
Lewis Roberts-Thomson enjoyed the most famous 100th Swans win – it came in the 2012 grand final.
