The Sydney Swans are delighted to congratulate Josh Kennedy on being awarded AFL Life Membership.
Kennedy will be inducted at the 2022 Annual General Meeting in March for his services to Australian Football, after having his award confirmed by the AFL Commission.
The 33-year-old midfielder qualified for life membership when he ran out for his 300th official AFL game – combining 279 premiership games and 24 pre-season games played for Hawthorn and Sydney Swans.
Since his Swans debut in 2010, Kennedy has accumulated a long list of accomplishments in the red and white which includes the 2012 Premiership, three Club Champion awards, three All-Australian honours as well as finishing third in the 2014 and 2017 Brownlow Medal counts.
After five seasons as captain, Josh Kennedy stepped down from the role for the 2022 season, making way for Callum Mills to join Luke Parker and Dane Rampe as the team’s leaders. Kennedy will remain in Sydney’s leadership group, as he enters his 13th season in the red and white.
