Get the latest on the injury front ahead of Sydney Derby XXIII, with Head of Physiotherapy and Medical Services Damian Raper providing an update on Tom Papley, Callum Mills and more.
AAMI Community Series recap
It was good to have a hit-out against North Melbourne in the AAMI Community Series and all the players got through reasonably well.
It was challenging conditions and a little bit of a slower game than we had expected but no serious injury concerns.
Tom Papley
Tom's hamstring is progressing as we would expect. We thought 4-6 weeks and is continuing along that timeline.
Callum Mills
Mills has progressed really well with his Achilles tendon rehab and has spent a bit of time in modified football training through February, and he played three quarters against North Melbourne and got through as we expected.
He will train this week and expect him to be available weekend.
Lachlan Rankin
We had some scans with Lachie this week and his thumb appears to be healing well. He is going to start doing some modified ball work this week.
Joel Amartey
Joel played well in a VFL practice match against GWS, he got through half a game and has continued some conditioning work off the back of that, and will continue to work through a modified training program this week.
Marc Sheather
Marc also played half a game in the practice match against GWS - he will have another game on some modified minutes and we will look for him to return to full training next week.
