Sydney has blown away West Coast by 63 points after a remarkable first-half blitz despite the absence of superstar forward Lance Franklin at Optus Stadium on Friday night.

Sydney dominated all the key statistics throughout the game, led by Callum Mills (28 disposals and six clearances) and Luke Parker (26 disposals and two goals) along with their young brigade as they won 18.13 (121) to 9.4 (58).

Sydney coach John Longmire was delighted with his side's performance up forward without Lance Franklin (finger) and Tom Papley (hamstring) as they kicked 18 goals with 11 different goalkickers.

"We've got Papley and Franklin sitting at home, two of our regular scoreboard hitters and Wicks," he said.

“The boys that game in, whether it was Bell, Ronke or McDonald, they were able to do a good job and the other boys were able to continue their form going.

"We were able to give our boys some supply.

"We had a lot of repeat entries, so our pressure inside and structure outside was strong early. We were able to win in the midfield and get it into the forward line. To have 11 goalscorers was a good spread all round."

Isaac Heeney led the way with three goals to take his season tally to 14, second in the Coleman Medal race. Heeney has been used in multiple roles this season, including the midfield earning praise from Longmire.

"He has been consistent wherever we have needed him; he's played forward, he's played deep, he's played high, he's played midfield," Longmire said.

"Inside out on the wing ... It's been important for him to change up in the course of the game and he's a real threat wherever he is."

The Swans flew out of the blocks early, kicking the first 8 goals of the game as the red and white opened up a 58-point lead at half time, including 20-2 scoring shots and 39-10 inside 50s.

The Eagles fought back to outscore the Swans in the third term before the Swans pulled away again with seven fourth quarter goals.

Longmire was pleased with the signs show but said the focus was still on consistency.

“It was just about repeating about what we had done to that point and making sure we stuck to the process,” Longmire said.

“We don’t look at the scoreboard and get carried away with that. It was about looking at the process that got you there.

“To the Eagles credit, they were able to come back and put some scores on in the third quarter and kick really accurately, but within the last quarter we had another good go at it which was terrific.”

“We have a lot of work to do on our game. We are aiming to keep getting better, getting some consistency over the four quarters and consistency from week to week so we have a lot of improvement we need to strive for.” Longmire added.

Sydney will face Hawthorn in an ANZAC Day clash at University of Tasmania Stadium in Round 7 (Monday, April 25).
