Six Sydney Swans players have polled votes from the coaches following the side’s 41-point victory over Hawthorn on Monday afternoon, with midfielder Callum Mills receiving back-to-back perfect 10s after his outstanding performance in the Round 6 victory.
After receiving the unanimous vote for the Gun Shell Gallantry Trophy last week, Mills had another monumental performance against the Hawks, with a game high 37 disposals and six clearances. He also had one goal, 17 contested possessions, 11 score involvements and five tackles as he received the full votes.
Chad Warner (24 disposals and two goals) performed strongly to receive 6 votes while forward Lance Franklin, who returned from a hand injury, looked dangerous up front on his way to three goals as he polled five votes.
Ruckman Peter Ladhams (19 disposals, 34 hit outs, 6 clearances) had four votes, Luke Parker (29 disposals and 7 clearances) received three while Errol Gulden (20 disposals, 1 goal and three tackles) received one vote.

Mills currently sits equal third on the leaderboard on 31 votes alongside Melbourne’s Clayton Oliver. Fremantle’s Andrew Brayshaw (37) and Carlton’s Patrick Cripps (35) are currently above Mills.
The AFL Coaches Association’s AFL Champion Player Award is an award voted by the 18 coaching panels on a 5,4,3,2,1 basis after each home and away game, acknowledging outstanding effort by an individual player in a season.

Mills' 10 votes also takes him into the outright lead in the Carey Bunton Medal for the best player for NSW in season 2022 with 31 votes followed by team-mate Isaac Heeney (17 votes) and Adelaide forward Taylor “Tex” Walker.
The winner of the NSW Player of the Year award each year receives the Carey-Bunton Medal that honours the two greatest NSW players of all time, Wayne Carey and Hadyn Bunton based on the votes cast by the AFL coaches.
