Nathan Gordon talks to sydneyswans.com.au about season 2010, being elevated to the senior list, and what he's doing in the break...

It was your first full year at the Club. How do you sum up the year?
It was a success, getting elevated to the senior list late in the year. And I played some pretty good footy towards the end of the year as well. My highlight was getting on the senior list.

What got you there, and what do you need to keep doing next year?
I’ve got to keep backing myself and the coaches have told me not to get too flustered. Just taking it as a normal game, and that is what got me on the senior list. I have to think I’m a senior player instead of thinking maybe I’m not good enough to be here. That is the main thing.

What was the highlight in a team sense?
The number of guys who went from the Reserves to the seniors, such as Trent Dennis-lane and Cambo (Campbell Heath) and when they came back, everyone in a way got a bit jealous that they were playing senior footy and it made every want to play well. It showed us what was possible.

Which guys impressed you the most?
Sam Reid impressed me the most. There was talk at the start of the year that he was a bit too young to play senior footy and he showed at the end of the year it doesn’t really matter and went to the seniors and played well.

What do you have to improve to take the next step and play senior football next year?
Probably just keep that consistency, work on the game plan and doing the basics well and backing my instinct.

What are you going to do during the break?
Nothing! Just relax, go home to my parents in Sydney and recover. Just sit on the couch and sleep in until 1pm every day.
