Capper the king of retro spectacle
Warwick Capper returned to the SCG on Saturday night, showing he had lost none of his flair and flamboyancy...
Sydney Swans supporters partied like it was 1982 at last weekend’s 30 years in Sydney celebrations at the SCG.
But there was nothing retro about the Swans’ performance, with the Sydney side showing just how far they’ve come since relocating to the Harbour City, running away with a 101-point victory over Melbourne.
There were mullets, headbands and retro Swans’ attire in the crowd of 20,818 on the night, as Sydney fans enjoyed the chance to celebrate the retro fashions of the past.
Even Swans’ mascot Cyggy was in theme, sporting a mean mullet to celebrate the occasion.
Keeping in the spirit of the 80s, the king of the past, Swans Hall of Famer Warwick Capper was on hand to judge the best dressed on the night.
The finalists wore 80s football shorts, wigs and tight and bright outfits to get the attention of the flamboyant former player.
Decked out in tight leopard-print pants and a black jacket, Capper awarded the best-dressed award to who looked to be a miniature Capper look-a-like, who went home with a commemorative 30 Years in Sydney guernsey as a prize.
Capper also entertained fans in the Chairman’s Club, and was a fixture in many Swans’ supporter photos throughout the evening.
