Sydney Swans midfielder Chad Warner has polled the full 10 votes for the AFL Coaches Association’s AFL Champion Player Award following the side’s Round 18 victory over Fremantle at Optus Stadium.
Chad Warner continued his rapid emergence as a star of the competition with a best-afield performance, and has now topped the votes from the coaches over the last three weeks.
After claiming 8 votes in Round 16 and 9 votes in Round 17, Warner claimed the full 10 votes from the coaches this week.
The powerful onballer finished with a career-best 35 disposals, seven clearances, six inside 50s and a goal.
He was supported by young talent Errol Gulden (2 goals, 23 disposals and three tackles to claim 8 votes) and co-captain and midfielder Callum Mills (26 and nine tackles who claimed 6 votes).
Isaac Heeney claimed two votes following his 1 goal, 18 disposals, 5 tackles and 9 scoring involvements while Tom Papley claimed one vote following 2 goals, 17 disposals and 7 scoring involvements.
