Leon Cameron commenced as the new Talent Director of the QBE Sydney Swans in November 2022.
 
Cameron brings a wealth of coaching experience to the role, after 193 games at the helm of GWS, where he guided the team to the finals for five of the past seven years, including the 2019 Grand Final.
 
Prior to his role at the Giants, Cameron spent nine seasons as an assistant coach at Hawthorn and the Western Bulldogs and was part of the coaching team that led the Hawks to the 2012 AFL Grand Final against the Sydney Swans.
 
A veteran of 256 AFL games as a player for Footscray/Western Bulldogs and Richmond, Cameron oversaw the Academy program in 2023 that now includes over 700 participants across male and female talent programs.

In late 2023 he stepped up as Executive General Manager of Football – AFL, taking over from Charlie Gardiner.
