The Sydney Swans will wait until later in the week to decide whether defender Ted Richards faces Brisbane at the Gabba on Sunday afternoon.
Richards was concussed in a tackle from Port Adelaide forward Jay Schulz during the third quarter of Thursday night’s win over the Power and failed to return to the field.
General Manager of Football Tom Harley said all precautions would be taken before the 32-year-old was named in the side to play against the Lions.
“Ted has recovered well so we are fortunate we have a 10 day break but like with all concussions we will continue the monitoring of him,” Harley told the HCF Injury Update.
“He will train on Wednesday and Friday then we will make a call on Ted later in the week.”
After injuring his shoulder playing in the NEAFL a fortnight ago Craig Bird has recovered well and is in line for a return.
“Craig had a grade three injury,” Harley said. "He has responded really well and is a chance to play this week which has been a testament to the way Birdy has recovered himself a couple of weeks ago.”
Ben McGlynn will be treated with caution as he looks to overcome a minor calf strain that has seen him miss the last few weeks.
According to Harley, there's no hurry to rush McGlynn back into the side and will monitor his progress throughout the week before making the call.
Isaac Heeney will look to increase his workload this weekend after getting through his first competitive hit out in last weekend’s NEAFL loss.
Heeney played a half of football after recovering from a strain to his Posterior Cruciate Ligament suffered in Round 6 against Melbourne at the MCG.
Tom Derickx looks likely to miss this weekend’s clash against the Lions after hurting his chest against the UWS Giants last weekend.
