General Overview
The entire playing squad have returned to training following the Christmas break. They completed their 2km time trial, with a group of players recording personal best times. Training drills and intensity is continuing to increase, with recovery in the new Sydney Swans HQ at the Royal Hall of Industries being a priority for the group.
Some players continue to be on modified training programs relative to the main group. Both Marc Sheather (foot) and Hugo Hall-Kahan (knee) had off season surgeries and continue to be modified from some football drills.
Sam Reid (adductor) also continues to work on a modified football skills program as he works back in to full training following the injury he sustained in the Grand Final.
Joel Amartey (hamstring)
Joel sustained a hamstring strain in preseason training this week. We expect him to require two weeks of recovery and no running before then building back in to full training over the next month.

Lachian Rankin (knee)
Just prior to the Christmas break, Lachlan had knee pain which progressively got worse over a few sessions. He subsequently had a de-load over the break in order to work on some quad and hip strengthening, and his now participating in modified football drills and conditioning running.
Lewis Melican (abductor)
Lewis sustained a low grade adductor strain in training last week in training. His MRI was very reassuring and we only expect him to miss 1-2 weeks of training.
