Sydney Swans midfielder Chad Warner has polled the full 10 votes for the AFL Coaches Association’s AFL Champion Player Award following the side’s Round 1 victory over the Gold Coast Suns.
Warner was instrumental in the Swans season opener 49-point victory, finishing with a game high 30 disposals, including 13 contested possessions, eight tackles, eight inside-50s and three score involvements.
Warner was one of six Swans to poll votes, with Dane Rampe (25 disposals, 4 tackles and 12 intercept possessions), Errol Gulden (24 disposals, one goal, five tackles and 10 inside-50s), Dylan Stephens (27 disposals, 19 kicks, four tackles and a goal) , Will Hayward (19 disposals and a goal) and Callum Mills (19 disposals, seven tackles and a goal) also polling votes.
