Speaking in a press conference John Longmire confirmed that Amartey would remain out for at least 8 -10 weeks. He isn’t expected to return until after the mid-season bye.

The return of Lance Franklin also remains under doubt after suffering a knock to his knee in Round 4.

In good news, Tom Hickey completed full training last week and will test his availability for this weekend’s game.

Welcome back, Colin O’Riordan

Former Sydney Swans defender Colin O’Riordan has returned to the club as he assists the AFLW program in the absence of coach Scott Gowans.

O’Riordan retired at the end of the 2022 season due to a hip injury and played 34 games for the red and white since his AFL debut in 2018.

"If I can pass on one message to the girls, it's to drive your own career and you can steer it in any way you want to,” O’Riordan said. “If you put the hard work in and put your head down, you will reach whatever goal you want to reach."
