Sydney Swans midfielder Chad Warner and Errol Gulden have earned a spot in the AFL Players Association 22Under22 side for 2023.
The young midfielders were selected from a 44-man squad and voted on by fans.
It’s the first time Gulden has been named in the team after a hugely impressive season. The 21-year-old has a season average 26.3 disposals and 5.2 tackles to his name and kicked 18 goals for Sydney this year.
Gulden is a QBE Sydney Swans Academy product and made his debut for the red and white in 2021.
Chad Warner has featured in the team for a second year in a row. Despite missing several weeks due to a calf injury, the young gun continues to play an important role in the midfield. He played his 50th career game this season and has kicked 14 majors from 19 matches.
To be eligible for selection, players are required to appear in at least 12 matches across the season and are rewarded for their consistency across the season.
The concept was first introduced in 2013 to reward the young players who make an impact on their club and the competition so early in their careers.
Ten players from Sydney have been selected in the past - Isaac Heeney and Callum Mills (3), Luke Parker, Dan Hannebery, McCartin and Warner (2) and Blakey, Tom Papley, Ben Ronke and Gulden (1).
Earlier in the season Heeney and Mills were selected by fans for the 22Under22 Team of the Decade.
