The pacey midfielder, who played just 13 games last season after struggling with injuries, has played every game this season including his impressive 22 possessions, of which 10 were contested, and five tackles against the Eagles last Sunday.
Speaking to SwansTV from the National Centre of Indigenous Excellence’s NAIDOC Week celebration on Friday afternoon, Jetta said he felt his 2014 form could rival his breakout 2012 season, which saw him finish the year with 45 goals.
“I think I’ve got back to my best since round one,” he said.
“In 2012, I was averaging 15-16 possessions and some goals, but this year I’m averaging 18-19 possessions and even more.
“If I can do that and kick a couple more goals I’ll be pretty happy.”
The West Australian, who had a host of family members supporting him at Patersons Stadium last weekend, said he felt his match against the Eagles was his best defensive effort for the season.
His game was also close to being equally as strong offensively, with Jetta narrowly missing two long shots on goal during the match.
“I had to put on a show for my family otherwise they’d give me some bad comments,” he said.
“It was a good game for me.
“I think my ground balls and defensive pressure was pretty good, and if I can repeat that this week it will be good again.
“I know my offence will come, I’ve just got to keep working on my defensive game.”
Jetta said he hoped he could help the Swans to another victory this weekend, when the club hosts Carlton at the SCG on Saturday night.
The 25-year-old said he planned on using his speed to the team’s advantage against the Blues’ talented midfield and backed his ability to play two-way football.
“I’m expecting a lot of running, so I’ll prepare my body for that,” he said.
“I’ll try to get them two ways and follow them down into the defence and then see if they can come with us back the other way.
“Carlton have a lot of good runners and good midfielders so it will be our midfield versus theirs.
“If we can beat (their midfield) then it will go a long way towards winning the game.
“We just need to outwork them pretty much.”
Jetta welcomed the inclusion of second-year player Dean Towers, who has been named to make his AFL debut this week.
Jetta described Towers as a talented player, adding that his speed was one of his major assets.
“He’s quick – he chased me down in the pre-season so that’s saying something,” he said.
“If I get the ball and I see him in the space, I’m going to be the one kicking to him so I’m going to let him run.
“He’s got young, fresh legs, so he’ll be good.”
