Versatile forward Gary Rohan knows he must build on his consistent 2016 season heading into his eighth season at the Club.
After missing the first eight matches of the season Rohan when on to play 18 matches during 2016, his best return since being taken in the 2009 draft.
The 25-year-old was an important cog in the Swans forward line with his defensive pressure rushing many of the most composed defenders in the competition.
Not only did Rohan showcase his ability to take a strong mark overhead and finish accurately from long range but he is also capable at ground level.
“It was probably my most consistent season I have had at the Club,” he said.
“I am looking forward to a big pre-season and hopefully taking another step up next year.”
Rohan was placed on the long-term injury list at the start of the season to ensure he took the required amount of time to recover from ongoing hamstring issues.
“I took the time on the long-term injury list early in the season to make sure my body was right,” he said.
“I think that moved certainly paid off later in the year.”
Rohan recently signed a new three-year deal to remain in the red and white tying him to the Club until the end of the 2019 season.
He understands the importance of the leadership role he can play alongside Lance Franklin in what is shaping as a young Swans forward line heading into 2017.
