We’re excited to share some developments that aim to improve your experience travelling to and from games at the SCG.
The Sydney Swans are a member of the Alliance of Moore Park Sports (AMPS). Along with other sporting organisations in the Moore Park precinct – Sydney FC, the Sydney Roosters, The Waratahs, AFL NSW and Cricket NSW, and peak bodies, the NRL, Cricket Australia and Rugby Australia - AMPS offer a united front which underscores our commitment to you, our valued members, ensuring that everyone has equitable access to world-class sport and entertainment at Moore Park.
In recent times, AMPS have been advocating to retain on-grass event day parking at Moore Park, until an alternative parking solution is delivered. The NSW Government has agreed to retain parking until at least 2028, or longer if there are no satisfactory alternate transport plans. This is a terrific win for our members and fans to ensure our games remain as accessible as possible, especially for those who don’t have a viable public transport option to get to the SCG.
AMPS have also been focussed on improving public transport to the precinct, by advocating for the extension of the proposed Metro West line to include a station at Moore Park. This would mark a significant step towards enhancing accessibility and convenience for our dedicated members and fans.
The Sydney Swans, as part of AMPS, have written to the Premier to express our strong support for the Metro West extension. The proposal aims to efficiently manage the transport of more than 40,000 fans per hour, which would significantly reduce traffic congestion and facilitate easier and faster access to and from both the SCG and Allianz Stadium.
Whether you want to drive, catch public transport, or walk, AMPS want to ensure everyone has equitable access to their favourite sporting and entertainment events in Moore Park.
To help make this vision a reality, we need your support. We are asking our NSW members to contact their local State MP, emphasising that our world-class sporting venues at Moore Park deserve the world-class transport that the Metro would provide.
