Sydney Swans trio Shane Mumford, Sam Reid and Mitch Morton will face fitness tests ahead of Sunday’s clash against Melbourne at the MCG.

Club physiotherapist Matt Cameron said Mumford and Reid had resumed full training and will be pushing their case for selection this weekend.

“Shane is full training this week and is likely to be available,” Cameron told SwansTV.

“Sam, who had the quad strain, is full training as well after being out for a bit longer, but we’re expecting him to fully train and be available.”

Cameron also said that Morton, who was a late withdrawal from Friday night’s win over Carlton after suffering tightness in his quad in the warm up, could be in the mix to return this week.

“During the warm up he developed some tightness in his quad and it looked like it was getting worse and that he wasn’t going to be able to get through the game, so he had to be yanked out,’” he said.

“He hasn’t pulled up too badly and we’re expecting with a week turnaround that he’ll be able to recover in time and be able to play.”

Swans star Adam Goodes underwent arthroscopic surgery on his right knee on Tuesday morning after the injury he suffered in the Swans’ round 13 clash with Port Adelaide failed to settle down as expected.

“It became more evident last week that he was getting a bit of clicking in his knee and we needed to investigate that and he had to have a ‘scope today to look into that,” Cameron said.

“He had a little bit of loose cartilage in there which had to be cleaned up and a little trimming of his meniscus in his knee.

“It’s not a very invasive procedure, so we’re expecting him to recover in about six weeks’ time.”

The Swans will also be without Lewis Jetta this week, who is still yet to fully recover from a shin injury suffered in round ten.

“He was running last week and was increasing his running speed and so on but he just hasn’t progressed as we would have liked from last week to this week,” Cameron said.

“He’s not going to be ready to play for this week so things get pushed back.”

Meanwhile, Gary Rohan will move into his second week of full team training this week in the lead up to his long-awaited return to the field.

“He’s full training this week so we’ll give him another week next week and, all being well, we’ll unleash him,” Cameron said.
