Sydney Swans midfielder Paris McCarthy has earnt an NAB AFLW Goal of the Year nomination following her spectacular kick over the head major in the side’s Round 6B clash with Geelong.

McCarthy, who was called into the red and white line up for her first match of the season, kicked three goals in seven minutes in the second quarter to drag the Swans back into the contest.

McCarthy’s second goal, stunned the Cat’s defenders when she snapped overhead after teammate Bec Privitelli’s shot at goal fell short.

The former Gaelic footballer, playing her first match of the season, had never kicked an AFLW goal before Sunday.
