Jake Lloyd has taken his game to the next level this year, according to star midfielder Dan Hannebery.
Lloyd’s speed and poise has been on full display in the Swans strong start to the season, with the 22-year-old averaging a career-high 26 disposals per game in his third season in the red and white.
Hannebery says the steady improvement among the Club’s younger players has added a sense of energy to the midfield group.
“We had no concerns even last year with our speed as we have Harry Cunningham, who is as quick as anyone, Jake Lloyd and Tom Papley adds to that mix,” Hannebery said.
“We have a lot of guys who can play through the midfield that give us a lot of pace.
“Lloydy didn’t have a good end to last year, so it was important for him to step up. He has done that this year and has gone to another level.”
Lloyd has headlined an improvement across the board from the Swans’ younger players, who enhance the depth of the midfield.
“To have Lloydy and Tom Mitchell standing up has really added to the midfield mix,” Hannebery said.
“The depth has been an important factor with the added rotations and we now have eight or nine guys that can go through there, so the team is gelling nicely.
“It is really important to have that mix of inside and outside run.”
