The Sydney Swans are open to trading pick 12 should the right deal be put on the table in the upcoming trade period.
Sydney currently holds pick 12, 30, 35, 66 and 84 in November’s National Draft.
Head of Football Tom Harley said the Swans are open dealing on the first-round selection if it suited what the Club was chasing.
“We are open to looking at that,”
“We are in the economy of picks and points with Nick Blakey a chance to join us as an Academy player for us.
“We want to improve our list so we will look at everything and have had some discussions with clubs about that.”
“It is a first round pick, there is certainly currency associated with a first round picks, but if the deal was right we would look at doing something with that.”
Sydney delisted four players on Tuesday with Dean Towers, Jordan Foote, Angus Styles and Jake Brown all informed they will not be offered new contracts in 2019.
That goes along with Alex Johnson who has already not his contract renewed for next season and Kurt Tippett who retired at the beginning of the 2018 season.
Dan Robinson, James Rose, Nic Newman, Harrison Marsh and Jack Maibaum remain out of contract ahead of the trade period beginning on Monday morning.
“You can’t fix yourself just on picks or fix yourself just on points or just on players so we will have a look at everything.”
The 2018 AFL Trade Period will run from Monday right through until the deadline of 8.30pm on Wednesday October 17.
