Reflecting on his 15 year career, the 33-year-old described former Carlton star Anthony Koutoufides as the toughest player he’s lined up, and highlighted Lewis Jetta’s celebration following his drought breaking goal as one of the best he’s ever seen.
“I think Lewis Jetta kicking the goal here at the SCG for his first goal after 18 or 19 points,” Bolton said.
“That was one of the great SCG moments and was one of the great celebrations.”
Bolton also described the Swans’ bittersweet victory against the Cats in Geelong in late 2011 as one of the best he’s played in.
“My best win obviously apart from the grand finals would have to be down at Skilled Stadium when there was a hell of a lot of emotion about Jarrad McVeigh and his wife Clementine and little Luella,” Bolton said.
“There was just a hell of a lot of emotion and to get the win that day was really special for the club.”
The dual premiership player also offered some predictions for the future and named Tim Membrey and Brandon Jack as players to watch and nominated defender Nick Smith as a future leader of the club
“I think Nick Smith has definitely got captain material written all over him,” he said.
“He’s a wonderful leader and a great player.”
With just up to a month of football remaining for the popular Swan, Bolton said he had also given some thought towards who should don the number 24 guernsey in the future, adding that he might like to see another head of blonde locks in the famous number.
“I was thinking about this the other night and having to pass it on, and I’d love to see maybe Dane Rampe take it on,” he said
“We’ve got to get him out of those high numbers and it’s such a weight to bear the number 43!
“He’s got the blonde hair so he might be the one who takes it, but we’ll see.”
