Sydney Swans midfielder Luke Parker became the youngest player in 16 years to win the Bob Skilton Medal at last year’s Club Champion Dinner.
The tough, talented midfielder is in elite company with the likes of Paul Kelly, Tony Lockett, Bob Skilton, Gerard Healy, Adam Goodes and the current co-captains Jarrad McVeigh and Kieren Jack, among others, to have won the coveted medal.
In Round 18 against Adelaide this year, Parker and his teammates will run out onto the SCG in a limited edition Club Champion Medallists guernsey featuring all the past winners of the award and the names of 1100 lucky members and supporters.
All Swans members and supporters have the chance to write their name into the history books and take their place alongside the winners of the prestigious award in this limited edition memorabilia item.
For $269.95 Swans supporters will receive a limited edition guernsey with their name printed alongside the Club Champion winners which the players will wear in the Round 18 match.
Reigning Bob Skilton Medallist, Luke Parker said he encourages all Swans supporters to get their name printed into the fabric of the Sydney Swans guernsey before it’s too late.
“It was a huge honour to win the award last year and now to have my name on the Club Champion Medallists guernsey is something I’m really proud of,” Parker said.
“To be on there alongside blokes you look up to as a kid and some of the biggest names in the game is unbelievable.
“The guernsey is really special to me and the best part is it can be really special to all Swans supporters as they can join all the past club champion winners on this unique jumper.
“It’s a piece of Swans history that all of us can keep forever so I encourage all members and supporters to get their name on the guernsey.
“I know all of the players are really excited to run out onto the SCG in the guernsey against Adelaide in Round 18.
“It’s going to be a special day and one we look forward to sharing with all of the supporters who get their name on the guernsey.”
The Swans kick off their AFL premiership campaign on Easter Saturday against Essendon at ANZ Stadium.
Parker said he can’t wait to run out there alongside his teammates for the first match of the year.
“It’s been a big pre-season, we’re well prepared and now can’t wait to get back out there and get the season started against the Bombers,” Parker said.
“We’re expecting it to be a really tough match and hope to see as many Swans supporters there as possible making some noise.”
