Captain Josh Kennedy believes hard work is the only way his side can turn around a poor start to the season.

The winless Swans are seeking their first victory of the season as they prepare to take on GWS in Sydney Derby XII on Saturday night.

In a major boost to the Swans a number of big names could be in line to return including Isaac Heeney, Jarrad McVeigh and Kurt Tippett.

It has been the performances of the young players in particular Will Hayward and Oliver Florent that has shone through during the first four rounds of the season.

Kennedy said it was important that his team continued to persist with what they were trying to achieve.

“We saw some good signs from our young players but we just need some more consistency from our more senior players,” he said.

“There is no point sulking about it, we still have enough footy left in the season to do something about it so we have to keep working through it.”

“We will keep trying to push ourselves and push each other because there is no secret remedy in the situation we are in it is just hard work.”

Kennedy said he was eager for his younger teammates to be able to experience the feeling of a win.

“It is a positive and it is exciting but all I want for them is for them to be able to sign the song in the middle,” he said.
