Defender Dane Rampe has pinpointed the Swans' younger players as the drivers behind the strong start to the season.

The Swans won their second consecutive game by a margin in excess of 60 points, defeating Carlton at Etihad Stadium on Sunday.

Tom Papley, George Hewett and Callum Mills all followed up their impressive debuts with strong performances against the Blues.

Rampe said it was the Club's younger players simply playing their role that had been important over the first two weeks of the season.

“To see the young blokes driving that (playing their role), has kicked started the season to be honest,” Rampe said post-match.

“I think some of the older boys are following suit so it is good to see.

“The excitement they bring is really infectious and I think the boys are really thriving off it.”

TALKING POINTS: Blues v Swans

Rampe said it was pleasing to see the trio make the most of the opportunity presented to them.

“It is really good to be around because there were some spots up for grabs at the start of the year,” Rampe said.

“For those blokes to come in and have the impact they have it is a real credit to them.

“We just love having them out there.”

Mills (19 disposals), Papley (17, and two goals) and Hewett (15) all received praise from coach John Longmire following the match.
