Out of contract pair Dean Towers and Toby Nankervis are both required players at the Swans according to Head of Football Tom Harley.

Towers played 13 matches during his third season at the Swans playing an important role as a third tall forward for much of the season.

After making his AFL debut in 2015, Nankervis was called upon to play seven matches this season after injuries to Kurt Tippet and Callum Sinclair during the season.

He played in the Swans semi-final in partnership with Sam Naismith before Kurt Tippett returned for the remaining three finals of the season.

Harley said the club was keen to sign new deals with both players to a new contract.

“They are certainly required players,” Harley said on Monday.

“They are both out of contract and have had contracts offered to them throughout the year.

“Both those players are certainly required players from our end.”

Out of contract midfielder Tom Mitchell informed the club on Monday of his desire to seek a trade to Hawthorn.

"We learnt of Tom's preference today, so now we will discuss as a list management team what the next steps look like,” Harley said on Monday.
