The Sydney Swans have finalised a trade with Richmond that will see ruckman Toby Nankervis move to the Tigers in exchange for draft pick 46.
Nankervis informed the Club yesterday of his intention to be traded as he seeks more opportunities at senior level.
The 22-year-old, who was a second round selection in the 2013 AFL Draft, played 12 games in his three seasons with the Swans.
Swans Head of Football Tom Harley says the Club will now work to improve its draft position by the end of the trade period.
“Whilst we offered a new contract to Toby and would have liked him to stay, we understand his decision to move on for greater senior opportunity and we wish him all the best for the future,” Harley said.
“We will continue to look to improve our draft position as we look forward to bringing in some exciting young talent.”
The Swans will hold picks 14, 17, 39, 46, 52 and 93 at next month’s draft.
