Renewing her membership in 2015 was a no brainer for Deborah Hutton, with the Sydney Swans Ambassador eager to be in the stands for yet another season supporting the red and white.

Supporting the Swans has been a lifelong passion for Hutton, who attends as many homes matches as possible throughout the season alongside her mother Dell, who has been a member since the club’s South Melbourne days.

Speaking to sydneyswans.com.au about her decision to jump on board again in 2015, the popular media personality described just how much she loved her Swans.

“For me it’s such an honour to be an ambassador,” Hutton said. “I bleed red and white.”

“I’m so passionate about my Swans and I go through withdrawals at the end of September and I count the weeks until we’re back!

“I don’t know what I’d do if I didn’t have the passion I have for AFL and I feel sorry for people who don’t follow the Sydney Swans.

“I fly the flag for them as high as I can and I just love their attitude and what they bring to the sport, and I think we’re the envy of all AFL teams because of what we stand for.”

Hutton, who has been a Swans member since 1996, sits in the Brewongle Stand, not far from the Paul Kelly Race, for every home match at the SCG.

She said there was nothing better than attending home matches, and said she and her mum both love being a part of all the fun and excitement in the stands on game day.

“I love sitting in the stands and listening to all the social commentary and everything that happens,” she said.

“Home games are just the best.

“The atmosphere is better and every year it just gets better and better and better and I just love to be there supporting the boys.

“I love the culture of our club, I love the sport and there’s nothing more exciting than going to the games.”

Despite experiencing the disappointment of the Grand Final at the MCG in September, Hutton said she remained extremely positive for the season ahead.

She highlighted watching the development of the club’s up-and-coming talent as what she was most looking forward to in 2015.

“I’m expecting much more of what we had this year,” she said.

“I think we’re in form and we’ve got many years to come and we’ve got some really good Bloods coming through the team and some of our young guns are looking good.

“I’d just like more of what we had this year, but I’d like them to finish the year on a high this time around.”
