Sydney Swans Chairman Andrew Pridham today announced the appointment of Brad Seymour to the Board of Directors.
Seymour, who played 133 matches with the Swans from 1994-2003, replaces Jason Ball who has stepped down from the board following his appointment to the AFL Commission, which was ratified at the AGM on Wednesday.
Jason Ball is a member elected Director. In replacing Jason, Brad Seymour's appointment will enable him to join the Board immediately and then stand for Member election at the next AGM.
Chairman Andrew Pridham said that following Jason Ball’s departure, it was important to appoint a director with relevant football experience, as well as business acumen.
“Brad brings with him 133 games experience with the Swans and while he battled a number of injuries throughout his ten seasons with the Club, at his best he was a wonderful defender,” Pridham said.
“Since his retirement from the game, Brad has been extremely successful in the corporate sector and I am confident he will make an outstanding addition to our Board.
“Brad will be a vital conduit between General Manager of Football Tom Harley and the Board.”
