Forward coach Henry Playfair says...
“There are a few half forwards vying for a spot; Brandon, Harry Cunningham and Dean Towers are often competing for a role in that forward line. Brandon puts in as many hours as anyone and works really hard on his game. He had a big preseason, he did the whole lot which always pays off I feel - it's never wasted that time and effort you put in. To his credit he worked into a side that was in the top four and managed to play 10 games for us. I think for him to be a permanent fixture he needs to impact the game more. We saw glimpses of his pressure but to go to the next level we need to see more of that and for him to kick more goals."
Season highlight...
Brandon Jack spent time at NEAFL level before earning a senior berth in Round 9 against Carlton as the Swans' substitute.
But it wasn't until Round 16 when Jack hit his stride with the pressure forward stringing together some impressive performances including 18 possessions, three tackles and three inside 50s in the loss to Hawthorn and a courageous two-goal effort against West Coast.
Jack's ability to impact the scoreboard as well as pressure the opposition's backline came into the spotlight during the Swans' Round 21 and 22 clashes against Collingwood and GWS.
Jack kicked two crucial goals in the hard-fought win against the Magpies at the SCG before producing a consistent performance against the Giants the following week.
