Kurt Tippett is a chance to take on Adelaide at the SCG on Saturday afternoon with his recovery from a broken hand progressing ahead of schedule.
Tippett suffered the injury during the opening quarter of the Round 16 match against Hawthorn but was forced to play out the match due to the Swans already using the substitute.
With his recovery tracking well Tippett took to the training track on Tuesday and will once again put his hand to the test at Thursday’s main training session.
General Manager of Football Tom Harley said there was still plenty the big man had to do in order to prove his fitness ahead of Saturday.
“The fact he was out there with the boys and the balls is positive,” he said.
“He needs to do a few more things to put his name up on the selection board but that could happen as quickly as tomorrow.
“Like Buddy we will know more about him tomorrow after training."
Mike Pyke is also under an injury cloud after being substituted from the loss to West Coast with continual knee soreness.
“He is carrying a knee injury at the moment and it is a bit of a week to week proposition," Harley said.
“It goes without saying he is a really important player for us leading our rucks. He was on lighter duties yesterday, will train tomorrow and we will re-assess then.”
The swans final team will be named at 6.25 on Thursday on sydneyswans.com.au.
