Callum Mills has been honoured for his amazing feats as a junior footballer after being crowned Young Athlete of the Year at the NSW Sports awards.
The 18-year-old was presented with the honour during the prestigious award ceremony held at Curzon Hall on Thursday evening.
Mills was the highest draft pick to come from Sydney when he was taken by the Swans with selection 3 in the National Draft in November.
He has played an active role in mentoring and supporting junior football through his continual involvement with the QBE Sydney Swans Academy.
It was a strong field for the award including cycler Caleb Ewan and tennis player Alex de Minaur.
Mills was on hand to accept his award from Minister John Ajaka and Office of Sport CEO Matt Miller.
Retried Swans champion Adam Goodes was nominated for Athlete of the Year at Thursday’s ceremony, but was beaten for that award by netballer Kim Green.
