Sydney Swans forward Ben McGlynn has been cleared of any wrongdoing in a contest with St Kilda's Brendon Goddard during the third quarter of yesterday's 29-point win over the Saints at the SCG.

The Match Review Panel deemed a clash of heads between McGlynn and Goddard was accidental and no further action will be taken with McGlynn free to take his place in the Swans side to face the Gold Coast Suns this Saturday night at Metricon Stadium.

Contact between the Sydney Swans' Ben McGlynn and St Kilda's Brendon Goddard from the third quarter of Sunday's match was assessed.

McGlynn and Goddard were contesting a loose ball.

McGlynn bumps Goddard side to side as he attempts to gain possession and the pair clash heads.

It was the view of the panel the contact was an accidental head clash beyond the control of the players.

No further action was taken.
