Swans speedster Gary Rohan is excited to be back out on the SCG after being selected to return from injury in Friday night’s clash against Collingwood.
Rohan, who has missed the past five weeks with a hamstring injury, walks straight back into a senior side aiming to bounce back from a disappointing loss to Geelong last weekend.
Rohan is one of two inclusions for Friday night’s blockbuster joining Mike Pyke in replacing Toby Nankervis and Zak Jones.
Speaking about his selection to SwansTV, Rohan expressed a mixture of relief and excitement ahead of the Round 20 clash in which a sell-out crowd is expected at the SCG.
“I am very excited to get back in the squad, five weeks out is a bit too long and I can’t wait to get back out there with the boys on Friday night,” Rohan said.
“Hopefully I can bring a bit of excitement and energy to the side as well as provide a bit of a target for the midfielders to kick to up forward.”
“It has been quite frustrating but I have done it plenty of times before so I am now very glad to be back out there.”

The 24-year-old provides a massive boost to the Swans’ forward line which has also been missing spearhead Lance Franklin and small forward Ben McGlynn.
Rohan had strung some good form together before the injury, averaging 14 disposals and a goal a game in the three weeks before tearing his hamstring in Round 14 against Port Adelaide.
After a lonely three weeks in rehab, Rohan resumed training two weeks ago and was one of the strongest trainers in Thursday’s final session which prompted fitness staff to give him the green light.
