Josh Kennedy led the way as the Sydney Swans recorded a clean sweep of the AFL Coaches Association Champion Player of the Year votes in last Saturday night’s win over the Brisbane Lions at the Gabba.

Kennedy, who has now polled votes in five of the Swans seven matches, received the maximum number of votes after gathering 34 disposals, five inside 50s and kicking two goals, and has now moved into seventh on the AFL-wide leaderboard.

Co-captains Kieren Jack (26 touches, two goals) and Jarrad McVeigh (35 disposals at 89 per cent efficiency) split the four and three votes from John Longmire and Justin Leppitsch, while Luke Parker was the other Swan to receive multiple votes with four.

Rhyce Shaw capped off his 200th career game with a vote, while Ben McGlynn made it four games he has polled in with the other one vote.

Gold Coast’s Gary Ablett extended his advantage at the top of the leaderboard after receiving five votes in their win over North Melbourne.
