Speedy Fremantle midfielder Stephen Hill has been ruled out of Saturday night's clash between the Dockers and Sydney Swans with a quad injury.

Hill, who had 18 disposals and nine clearances the last time the Swans hosted the Dockers at the SCG in round 2 last year, was a late withdrawal from Fremantle's 27-point over Collingwood last weekend and has failed to come up for their trip east.

“Stephen’s quad injury has not come up but we believe he will be ready to return in round 10 against Adelaide,” general manager of football operations Chris Bond said on fremantlefc.com.au on Tuesday.

Fremantle will also be without ruckman Jon Griffin who has been ruled out for the rest of the season after he tore his anterior cruciate ligament in the win over the Magpies.
