Melbourne has made one change at the selection table ahead of Sunday’s match against the Sydney Swans at the MCG.

Co-captain Jack Grimes returns to the side for the first time since suffering a collarbone injury in round six, while Sam Blease is the only out after he was subbed out of last weekend’s game against the Western Bulldogs with an ankle injury.

Speaking to melbournefc.com.au, acting Melbourne General Manager of Football Operations, Josh Mahoney, said Grimes was ready to face the Swans.

“Jack has worked very hard following his shoulder operation,” Mahoney said.

“Given the type of injury he’s had he’s been able to do a lot of the running and he’s been doing ball work and contested work for the past two weeks.

“We’re comfortable that he’ll have the match fitness to play, which is why he’s come straight into the team.”

James Strauss, James Sellar and Cam Pedersen have been named as Melbourne’s emergencies.
