Dual Brownlow medallist Adam Goodes is feeling positive after undergoing arthroscopic surgery on his injured knee earlier this week.

The Swans’ star, who went under the knife on Tuesday, told sydneyswans.com.au that the surgery on his right knee was a success.

“The operation on Tuesday went really well and I’m very happy with the result,” he said.

“I was able to walk out of the hospital, which is a great result because walking into the hospital wasn’t very comfortable at all.

“The knee is all good and I look forward to hopefully being back in the team by round 21.”

Goodes was in good spirits on Friday and chatted with team mates before taking a seat in the stands for the duration of the team’s final training session ahead of Sunday’s clash with Melbourne.

The 331-gamer, who is expected to miss six weeks with the injury, said he planned to stay around the club for the duration of his rehab and would work alongside fellow injured Swans Tommy Walsh and Alex Johnson.

“I’m looking forward to the rehab period,” he said.

“I’ve got a few guys that work me hard in there, including Tommy Walsh, so I’m looking forward to getting in there and doing some hard work.”
