The Magpies produced a comprehensive 79-point win over the Bombers which saw them edge to within a game-and-a-half of fourth position on the ladder.
Speaking from the SCG on Tuesday afternoon, Longmire said the black and white visitors would mean business at ANZ Stadium on Saturday night as they make their charge towards September.
“We come up against Collingwood this week who had their best game for the year on the weekend and won by 80 points and had 80 tackles,” he said.
“They were certainly at their best pressure-wise, so it’s a big challenge for us to play them up here on our home deck.
“Collingwood’s best form is still as good as anyone’s and we saw that on the weekend against Essendon, who have had a really good year.
“Collingwood at their best are a really talented team and they put pressure on around the ball and they certainly showed that on the weekend, and that’s what will be in front of us this week.”
The Swans have won their previous two encounters with Collingwood, including the 2012 preliminary final at ANZ Stadium, as well as this year’s round nine clash at the MCG.
While the most recent results between the two sides have gone the way of the Swans, Longmire said his team won’t be looking too far back when they take on one of the AFL’s powerhouses this weekend.
“Teams move on pretty quickly, so we don’t spend a lot of time looking at (past results),” he said.
“We look at the last three weeks of form with Collingwood, and that’s generally what we do with most teams.
“Things change so quickly personnel-wise, game-style-wise, that you need to pretty much live in the present and that’s what we tend to do.
“They’ve put (Ben) Reid forward now and that’s another tall, marking option. Cloke is obviously one of the best key forwards in the competition, and they’ve got that midfield playing really well.
“I look at that and the fact that they laid 80 tackles and probably everyone in the footy world assesses their form as being the best form they’ve been in for the year.”
The Swans will face at least one selection headache this weekend with small forward Ben McGlynn’s three-week ban for striking now served.
Longmire said McGlynn, who also battled a hamstring injury during his suspension, would be in the mix for selection for Saturday night’s blockbuster clash.
“He’s been training and his hamstring has been fine,” Longmire said.
“He trained last week and is training again this week, so he will certainly be in the selection mix.
“We’ll sit down and work that out probably tomorrow.
“We’ve been happy with our younger kids who have been in the team whilst Benny has been injured, however Benny is still our leading goal kicker and has been a real pressure forward for us for the time that he was in the team before he got injured and suspended.
“He’s a quality player who is good offensively and defensively in our front half.”
