The Sydney Swans are on track to break membership records, with the club’s membership count now exceeding 25,000 loyal members.

With the Swans’ first NAB Cup match just one week away, the club is significantly ahead of the 2012 membership number at the same time last year and are steadily approaching the all-time membership record, which was set in 2007.

Swans General Manager – Membership, Ticketing & Fan Development Natalie Fagg said she is hopeful the club will break the Swans membership record before the season opener.

“We’re on track to break the membership record we set off the back of the success we had in 2005 and 2006,” she said.

“We’re hoping to achieve this before the start of the season and there’s certainly plenty of incentive for supporters to get in early with the 2012 Premiership Flag being unfurled at our first home game on April 6.”

For those fans yet to sign up with the Swans, Fagg said next week’s NAB Cup matches against cross-town rival GWS as well as Carlton would be the ideal opportunity to join for the 2013 season.

“This time of year is always exciting for the Red and White family as we get closer to the footy season and the pre-season competition starts,” she said.

“For those that might be thinking about becoming a member, my advice is to join now so you can be there from the beginning and get all the news, special offers and exclusive benefits that members enjoy.”

Fagg encouraged the club’s local fans as well as “south of the border” Victorian supporters to jump on board as members to help the club reach this exciting milestone ahead of the season opener.

“The increased interest in membership is not just coming from our Sydney based fans, but from supporters right around the country,” she said.

“In 2012 the team won games in every state and with our growing membership base’s fantastic support, hopefully we can emulate that success again in 2013.”

The Swans Member Services team will be on site at Blacktown next weekend to sign up new Swans members ahead of the team’s first NAB Cup clash.

To celebrate the Swans’ membership milestone, the club has also launched a new Membership Tab on the Swans Facebook Page.

Budding members are now able to click through to the Membership Tab, which is located on the Swans Facebook apps section below the main header, and click through to their preferred membership option.

Swans fans can also visit membership.sydneyswans.com.au to sign on with the Swans in 2013.
