IT’S been quite a while since I last wrote a letter to my doppelganger, Nemanja Vidic, in fact almost a year ago. (If you’re interested, here is what I wrote to him back then).

With the English Premier League season almost over I thought this was an opportune time to write to my look-a-like before he heads home to Serbia for a bit of post season R and R.

For those who don’t know, doppelganger is a German word for someone who looks exactly like someone else. My doppelganger turns out to be Nemanja Vidic, the strong defender for Manchester United, and one of the most attractive men in the world.

Here’s the letter I’ve just sent off:

Dear Nemanja Vidic,

It’s been a while since I last wrote to you. What’s been going on? I see that you’re still rocking the same hair cut as me!

I should have written to you earlier but I’ve been pretty busy.

I thought you’d like to know that I’ve picked you in my Premier League fantasy football team this year. You’ve had a great year and you’ve been scoring massive points so I’m very grateful. I’m sorry, but you’re not my captain. My captain is Van Persie, but for what it’s worth you’re in the leadership group.

Just wondering, have you picked me in your AFL dream team? I’m sure you have. Word of warning - you may not have heard yet over there, but Jobe Watson has hurt his hamstring so you may need to make an adjustment to your team there.

Congratulations on the Premiership win too. I see that you’ve got your last game against Blackpool this weekend. Have a great game, but go easy on Charlie Adam as he’s in my fantasy team too and I need the points to beat Jarrad McVeigh.

So, are people still walking up to you in the streets of Manchester calling you Teddy and saying how much they love The Richards Report? I’m sure they are, sorry about that.

All the best for the premiership celebrations. Don’t party too hard on Mad Monday and I’ll write you again soon.

Ted Richards
